The Reverend John Eric Horton is a native of Gadsden, Alabama and now resides in O’Fallon,
Illinois. He is a born-again believer in Christ Jesus. Rev. Horton has been married to the love of
his life Minister Shaurice Horton for 30 years. They have two daughters, one son-in-law, and
four grandsons.
Rev. Horton received a football scholarship in 1987 to the University of Alabama, but decided to
attend an HBCU. He graduated Summa Cum Laude from Gadsden State with an Associate
degree in Civil Engineering. He graduated Magna Cum Laude from Hampton University with a
Bachelor of Arts in Religious Studies. Rev. Horton is currently pursuing a Master of Divinity at Hampton
University.
Rev. Horton is a third generation Pastor ordained by his father, the late Rev Donnell Horton. His
has served as a Senior Pastor for over 20 years, having pastored in Alabama and Illinois. Each
undertaking in ministry has been marked by God’s Grace and Guidance which is reflected in
church growth, community involvement, and spiritual maturity.
